Iris In My Dreams by Charles Baughman Flower Series

I wish I was a better photographer because there is more pattern and detail on the piece than what is showing on the image.  So I've added the close up detail on the right.  It seems like a fairly straight forward image and I'm hoping that the different patterns and layers can work together to surprise and maintain interest. 

There are several layers of paint and pattern that work their way to the surface from the background image that I hope support the iris. This is another example of cutting apart something I liked to create something new.

This painting is not yet on my website but will be up soon.  This painting is on wood and paint and pattern extend around the outside edges so no frame is required.   Dimensions are H20" x W16".
