My daughter titled this painting as well as a few more that you'll see very soon on this blog. In this painting, I'm just trying to find ways to play with the pattern and the paint. If you look really close, you can see that each layer has it's own texture.
I've been reading about Monet, lately, and saw one of his large water lily paintings at Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. I don't know why people don't take flower paintings seriously, today. I paint what I love. I try to bring something new to it. I think it's honest, beautiful and passionate. I hope in one hundred years that people go back to my paintings and say "Yes...I feel it."
This painting is not on my website but will be up soon. It is available to purchase. All paintings are on wood and extend around the outside edges so no frame is required. Dimensions are H20" X W16".
Nice, I love the movement in this painting
