Rhapsody In Blue Steel by Charles Baughman Tool Series

I think if you know how to swing a hammer you kind of know your self worth.  For me, office work has always seemed nebulous with the final outcome being hard to pin down.  I can see the work I do with a hammer and, with it, I can build almost anything.  It's concrete.  It's visibly complete.  Also, I know many people who work in offices that have no interest whatsoever in swinging a hammer or building a house.  So, thankfully we all have our unique gifts and our niche in the world.

This image makes me think of the whirling dervish of activity taking me from one job to the next.  In all of that, the hammer is the constant.

This painting is not yet on my website but will be up soon.  All my paintings are on wood and paint extends around the outside edges so no frame is required.   Dimensions are H14" x W11".

  1. What a great painting! It captures the feeling of such business that we all can be surrounded by sometimes!! I love how the colors pop and at the same time blend so well together:)
