I think everybody has a set of measuring spoons and this piece shows an old set that I was given by my mother when I got my first place. I wasn't trying to paint them in reality but I wanted to explore the boundaries in paint and color. I think the paint feels like frosting when I am pushing it on the surface. It can have almost a buttery quality as I layer the paint on the surface. Yum!
This painting is on my website. All paintings are on wood and extend around the outside edges so no frame is required. Dimensions are H14" X W11".
